Holland America Line Names Ali McEvoy First Community Relations Representative in Sydney, Australia
Seattle, Wash., Feb. 27, 2014 /3BL Media/ — Holland America Line has named Ali McEvoy the company’s first community relations representative in Sydney, Australia. In this contract role, McEvoy will be responsible for overseeing corporate giving initiatives, including shipboard events, non-profit sponsorship opportunities and partnership activities in Sydney. McEvoy joins several members of Holland America Line’s community relations team who are based throughout the United States.
McEvoy will report to Pamela Baade, community relations manager for Holland America Line in the company’s Seattle headquarters and work closely with the company’s local sales office in Sydney.
“Ali has extensive knowledge of the non-profit community and charity events in Sydney and the Australian tourism industry, as well as excellent experience in event planning and public relations,” said Baade. “As we continue to expand our market in Australia, we believe it is important to give back and support local non-profit organizations, particularly in our focus areas of environmental, health-related, cultural, arts, and maritime causes.”
Prior to joining Holland America Line, McEvoy was a consultant for Bastion EBA, a company that connects products and properties with aligned sponsors. Prior to that post she worked at Event Planet in the event planning department. She also worked at Young Presidents Organization (YPO) International, Janesce Solutions, Orlando Wines and IMG in various marketing and event planning positions.
Each year, Holland America Line hosts more than 25 shipboard charity luncheons for nearly 5,000 guests in its homeport cities. In addition, Holland America Line and its corporate foundation’s charitable-giving programs provide cash sponsorships, in-kind donations, free- and reduced-fare cruise donations for nonprofit fundraising events, donations of usable shipboard items around the world, employee volunteerism and other philanthropic activities.
