February 21, 2017 /3BL Media/ - The World Environment Center (WEC) is pleased to announce that its 33rd annual Gold Medal for International Corporate Achievement in Sustainable Development will be awarded to HP Inc. (HP). HP will accept the Gold Medal Award on Thursday, May 11, 2017, during the Gold Medal Presentation Ceremony in Washington, D.C.
An independent jury selected HP’s application due to its corporate responsibility initiatives such as strategic alignment with 16 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, its comprehensive supply chain responsibility and circular economy efforts, and genuine commitment to advocating on behalf of migrant workers, refugees, and underserved populations.
In summarizing the decision of the Gold Medal Jury, Jury Chair Katherine Sierra noted, “On behalf of the independent Jury members, I extend my sincere congratulations to HP for its thoughtful approach to sustainability and social impact. The company strongly adheres to its three core pillars of environment, society, and integrity, and this commitment coupled with a global supply chain has far-reaching and positive sustainability impacts around the world.”
