Ile de France: Sanofi Employees Support Migrants
The Sanofi Espoir Foundation and the Sanofi France Communications Department launched a collection of hygiene products in early April among employees of Sanofi sites in the Ile-de-France area on behalf of migrants living in Paris.
A total of nearly 500 products (toothbrushes, shower gel, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.) were collected to create hygiene kits.
Thanks to this operation, our partner first emergency international (PUI) was able to make a donation in favour of migrant people living on the street near Porte de la Chapelle.
As a result of this, our Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) partner was able to distribute a hundred or so kits during their April visits.
The PUI’s "Rapid Response Mechanism" (RRM) project was launched in 2017 to meet the international migration crisis that is now forcing thousands of people to come to Europe in search of a refuge. At the end of November 2016, there were 78,000 asylum seekers in France.
This project has three prinicpal aims:
- Ensure humanitarian monitoring by carrying out rapid multi-sector assessments among migrants in the Île-de-France region and disseminate the results to local partners,
- Provide rapid assistance by distributing essential items (blankets, hygiene kits, etc.) to the migrant people in situations of extreme vulnerability,
- Mobilize and sensitize residents living near the migrants about the situation so as to involve residents in the project.
