(3BL Media) St. Louis, MO - June 11, 2012 - Incite's 105.7 The Point's Hardee's Holiday Food Drive campaign received a first place Missouri Broadcasters Association Award in Community Events on Saturday, June 2, 2012. The campaign raised over 5,700 pounds of food for Operation Food Search, helping feed 1,400 people in the St. Louis area.
For the eighth year in a row, 105.7 The Point and Hardee’s joined forces to encourage 105.7 The Point listeners to donate canned goods and other non-perishable food items to local Hardee’s locations benefiting Operation Food Search during the month of December.
“The success of the Hardee’s Holiday Food Drive demonstrates the results-based approach Incite takes to create measurable campaigns that leave a lasting impact on our communities,” Sarah Harris, Vice President and Founder of Incite, said. “Using the power of one of our parent company’s media brands, 105.7 The Point, we engaged listeners to participate in their community in a meaningful way that truly impacted the St. Louis area.”
The campaign included twelve local Hardee’s donation drop off locations. The first 105 people that donated at each location received a 105.7 The Point holiday stocking stuffed with prizes ranging from Hardee’s gift cards to concert tickets, and three lucky stockings included a trip to Jamaica. Donors lined up outside of local Hardee's restaurants to participate in the canned food drive making the campaign hugely successful.
"Hardee's was proud to partner with The Point for the eighth year of the Holiday Food Drive," Dan Zeliff, Regional Vice President of Operations for Hardee's said. "We'd like to thank our customers, whose generosity made the 2011 campaign one of our most successful.”
Incite’s first place award in Community Events was one of five awards received by Incite’s parent company, Emmis Communications at this year’s Missouri Broadcasters Association Awards. The Missouri Broadcasters Association Awards were judged by the New York Broadcasters Association to avoid unfair influence in the selection of the awards.
Operation Food Search is a St. Louis area food bank that distributes 2 million pounds of food and necessities to 265 food pantries, soup kitchens and homeless shelters in 31 counties in Missouri and Illinois.
