Ingersoll Rand Leaders Review Organization’s Climate Commitment at Global and National Events
In response to interest in Ingersoll Rand's Climate Commitment, company sustainability experts Nanette Lockwood, Randy Newton and Paul Camuti spoke at recent national and global events, sharing best practices and insights to advance energy efficiency and sustainable improvements worldwide. These events and topics discussed include:
Climate Leadership Conference - Held in Washington D.C., the Climate Leadership Conference welcomed business, government, academic and non-profit leaders to discuss ways to improve climate change through policy, innovation and business solutions. Nanette Lockwood, Ingersoll Rand global director, climate policy, participated in a panel titled, “Making Deeper Cuts: The Plan for Taking Out Higher GWP Gases.”
Lockwood shared progress on the Ingersoll Rand Climate Commitment and highlighted how perceived barriers to industry-wide progress in transitioning away from higher GWP gases can be overcome in the short term through regulatory certainty and the use of efficient product technology that is available today. “Collaboration with leaders and global organizations will enable us to address ways we can all facilitate progress with this critical global, societal issue,” she said.
Delhi Sustainable Development Summit - Located in New Delhi, the Delhi Sustainable Development Summit focused on sustainable development goals and addressing climate change. Randy Newton, Ingersoll Rand vice president enterprise engineering, joined leaders from around the world as he shared his perspectives and expertise during sessions on “Improving the Efficiency of Energy Use” and “Sustainability: Climate Change and Corporate Sector Initiatives." He also discussed Ingersoll Rand’s Climate Commitment and touched on the initiatives currently underway to ensure the company meets goals set forth in the commitment.
“To create a sustainable future, it is important that we start developing and managing infrastructure effectively and efficiently by working on specifications and standards for energy efficiency,” Newton said. "As a responsible corporation, we are constantly innovating to work towards increasing energy efficiency and reducing the company’s climate impact with operational and product-related climate targets.”
Alliance to Save Energy - As part of an ongoing dialogue to advance energy productivity, Accelerate Energy Productivity 2030: A State & Local Dialogue is a series of discussions organized by the U.S. Department of Energy, the Alliance to Save Energy and the Council on Competitiveness. The Accelerate Energy Productivity 2030 initiative supports President Obama’s goal to double U.S. energy productivity over 2010 levels by 2030.
Paul Camuti, Ingersoll Rand senior vice president, innovation and chief technology officer, joined local North Carolina leaders for a panel discussion, “Driving Energy Productivity: An Integrated Approach to Buildings and Transportation”. Camuti spoke about future needs in the transportation segment and products that enable Ingersoll Rand's customers to be more efficient and meet their sustainability goals.
