(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) February 7, 2011 - ICPD serves as a day for the business community to come together and celebrate its accomplishments in corporate social engagement and inspire companies around the world to engage in giving initiatives.

In connection with ICPD, CECP organizes the Board of Boards CEO Conference, where up to 100 global CEOs from the world’s largest companies come together to discuss corporate philanthropy from an executive perspective.  This year, we have invited a special delegations of CEOs from the Middle East and China to attend the conference and share their unique perspectives.  Also, each year, CECP representatives ring the Opening Bell of the New York Stock Exchange, and landmarks such as the Empire State Building are lit in the colors of ICPD, blue and green, in recognition of this internationally recognized day.

CECP also partners with the United Nations on ICPD to stage a special program , attended by up to 600 representatives from the nonprofit, government, and corporate sectors. This year the UN program will focus on Millennium Development Goal 2, regarding commitments to Universal Primary Education.  There we will discuss:

1.       Enabling access for children, both boys and girls alike, to a full course of primary schooling; and 2.       Promoting education and training in the world of work   ICPD is open to the entire corporate giving community, as business leaders, government officials, and nonprofit organizations celebrate a year of leveraged corporate giving investment. Companies across the globe plan wonderful celebrations, events, and programs for ICPD.  In addition to corporate initiatives, CECP highlights the initiatives of partner organizations. We invite you to join us in spreading awareness about ICPD through your various networks.   Please visit CECP's website for more information and tweet about ICPD using #ICPD
