IWN 10th Anniversary Honored with $25,000 Donation to YWCA
In honor of the Invesco Women’s Network (IWN) 10th Anniversary milestone, the company has made a $25,000 donation to YWCA USA. The YWCA USA mission is to eliminate racism, empower women, stand up for social justice, help families, and strengthen communities. It is one of the oldest and largest women’s organizations in the nation, serving over 2 million women, girls, and their families. YWCA has been at the forefront of the most pressing social movements for more than 160 years — from voting rights to civil rights, from affordable housing to pay equity, from violence prevention to health care reform.
“Invesco’s support of the YWCA could not be more needed or timely as women and people of color are disproportionately feeling the impacts of COVID-19,” said Nikki Noriega, Senior Client Portfolio Manager for Invesco and national board member of YWCA. “This donation will be used to support local YWCAs facing an immediate funding, staffing, and safety crisis that threatens their ability to meet the needs of women and children they serve.”
The YWCA combines programming and advocacy in order to generate meaningful change in three key areas: racial justice and civil rights, empowerment and economic advancement of women and girls, and health and safety of women and girls.
