“We are committed to reducing our footprint through flying technologies like Sharklets and biofuels research. In order to make this work globally, businesses need to join together for a low-carbon future.”

—Robin Hayes, President & CEO, JetBlue

We’re coming at greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction from all angles. Since committing to international carbon neutral growth from 2020, the question is no longer, when? It’s, how?

Beyond NextGen technology, we’re introducing 15 Airbus "neo" (new engine options) planes to improve fuel economy by 15%. We also signed one of the biggest renewable jet fuel deals in aviation history, which aims for a 50% reduction in GHG emissions per gallon.

Still, there’s no time to pause. At the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials, we strategized about how to create more stable conditions to bring an even cleaner fuel product to market, because the best way to get there is by putting our heads together. All the while, we offset emissions to further drive down our carbon impact.
