Join Susquehanna Service Dogs for the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community
These eleven service dogs in training are ready to walk! Susquehanna Service Dogs (SSD) is one of 48 organizations participating in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community on May 20 at HACC in Harrisburg, PA. Thanks to Highmark Blue Shield, which underwrites the cost of the walk, all the money raised by SSD’s walkers comes directly to SSD.
This is Susquehanna Service Dogs’ biggest fundraiser. There’s still time to donate or join the walk to support SSD to raise, train, and place service dogs.
Each dog from Susquehanna Service Dogs is individually trained based on their partner’s needs. The dogs can be trained to assist children and adults with autism, mobility disabilities, seizure disorder, and psychiatric disabilities. SSD also trains hearing dogs and dogs for military veterans. Since 1993, SSD has placed over 300 service dogs.
