KeyBank and Eight Days of Hope Team Up to Rebuild Homes in Buffalo's Masten District
KeyBank, in partnership with the First Niagara Foundation, is teaming up with Eight Days of Hope (EDOH) to provide free home repairs on approximately 150 homes in the Masten District in Buffalo, NY.
EDOH Buffalo occurs once a year in a different district of Buffalo to help bring hope to those whose homes need repair. The eight-day event, which runs from July 17th-24th, has brought over 1,500 volunteers from around the country to help those in the Masten District with home improvements such as painting, porch repair, roofing, carpentry, and landscaping.
This year, EDOH is partnering with KeyBank, which will send volunteers to help at homes across the Masten District, in addition to financial support. On July 20, more than a dozen volunteers from Key took time to work on a home on Norfolk Avenue in Buffalo, painting, scraping and landscaping.
“From the opening of Northland Workforce Training Center to recent expansion at Erie County Medical Center and the opening of KeyBank’s East Delavan branch, there are so many transformative things happening in Buffalo’s Masten District and on the east side,” said Kawanza Humphrey, Corporate Responsibility Officer for KeyBank in Buffalo. “We are proud to partner with Eight Days of Hope to deepen our investment on Buffalo’s east side and in our neighbors the Masten District.”
EDOH is headquartered in Tupelo, Mississippi, with a Northeastern Satellite in Buffalo and a Midwestern Satellite in Cedar Rapids, Ohio. While the nonprofit primarily serves those impacted by natural disaster, EDOH strives to give back to the communities it calls home, like Buffalo.
