Through the La Red de Innovación e Impacto program, WEC and our partners support small and mid-size enterprises (SMEs) that are accelerating business development and promoting sustainable economic growth in Latin America. Meet one of our La Red members:
FUNDES, a member organization of La Red de Innovación e Impacto, is a non-profit organization that has a presence throughout Latin America (13 countries) and whose mission is to improve the competitiveness of micro, small and medium-sized companies.
It has more than 34 years of experience in the development of value chains, where its clients are large companies, Development Organizations or Governments and the beneficiaries are the MSMEs that make up these value chains (suppliers, distributors, clients or entrepreneurs).
More than 450,000 MSMEs have been impacted from the execution of the projects. It bases its projects on strategies of shared value, where large companies benefit by doing more and better business with small allies, which in turn improve their socioeconomic condition and facilitate the development of their communities, countries and the region.
About LA RED
The U.S. Department of State has funded the World Environment Center (WEC) and its partners, Le Groupe-conseil baastel ltée (Baastel), and RioSlum Studio, to select organizations that are accelerating business development and promoting sustainable economic growth in Latin America. The Program, La Red de Innovación e Impacto (La Red), was established in 2014 and is a collection of 37 innovative solutions from 11 countries in the region.
