FISHERS, Ind., March 25, 2021 /3BL Media/ - Land Betterment Corporation (“Land Betterment” or the “Company”), an environmental solutions company fostering positive impact through upcycling former coal mining sites to create sustainable community development and job creation, is proud to announce that its independent director, Kim Bryden, and her company Cureate, have been selected by the Northwest Arkansas Council as a recipient of “Life Works Here” talent initiative.  Cureate was one of 25 recipients selected from more than 26,000 applicants, spanning 115 countries and all 50 states.  The “Life Works Here” initiative was launched by the Northwest Arkansas Council with backing from the Walton Family Foundation as an incentive program to leverage the growing regional resources and contribute to the vibrancy of its local market and economy.

“The Northwest region of Arkansas is flush with retail and agriculture resources, but not yet fully equipped to connect big and small businesses, which is where we come in,” said Kim Bryden, Founder and CEO of Cureate. “We specialize in curating these connections and empowering local food and beverage suppliers so that large institutional purchasers can localize their supply chains and redirect revenue back to local businesses.”

Cureate, founded by Bryden in Washington, D.C. in 2014, has been growing steadily to meet the demands of large purchasers who have consumers that increasingly want to support small businesses that align with their values. Currently, U.S. institutional food service is a $72 billion industry, and Cureate acts as the master supplier of local goods to #shiftthedollar back to local economies to seize a piece of that purchasing power. Additionally, Cureate provides entrepreneurship education and training to small business suppliers, as well as consulting to city governments and economic development departments who are looking to fundamentally reimagine how big and small businesses work together to build a more interconnected, economically-vibrant community. The result is a more consistent and collaborative ecosystem serving all stakeholders, from big corporations, to small businesses, to local consumers.

As Independent Director of Land Betterment, Bryden is helping advise the Company on is various initiatives to bring innovation and real solutions to the Appalachia and Midwest region.  In particular, Land Betterment’s Betterment Harvest division aims to repurpose and upcycle former mining and industrial sites to develop the entrepreneurial growth and needs of the regional ag tech industry to create a more resilient and local supply chain.
