Le Monastère des Augustines Receives a 5 Key Rating with GSTC Recognized Green Key Eco-Rating Program

OTTAWA, ON - February 14, 2017 /3BL Media/ - Green Key Global is pleased to announce Le Monastère des Augustines, a Green Key Global member since 2015, has received a 5 Key rating with the new GSTC Recognized Green Key Eco-Rating Program.

A 5 Key rating is the highest rating a property can achieve and validates that the Le Monastère des Augustines demonstrates the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility throughout all areas of their operations. The hotel employs cutting edge technologies, policies and programs that set the international standard for sustainable hotel operations.

Le Monastère des Augustines stands out for its innovative practices rooted in over 375 years of history focussing all of its material and human resources on preserving the Augustinian Sisters' precious heritage. Its commitment to the environment is manifested in part by its use of geothermal heating and air-conditioning systems, as well as its extended composting system for the majority of organic wastes. The property's Sustainable Development Committee, made up of employees from all departments, continually finds new ways to improve their sustainable practices. Some of its objectives for the near future are to replace energy-consuming kitchen appliances, improve organic waste collection, and put in place a communication program to raise awareness of sustainability.
