The 2014 AIAG Lean Product Development Briefing and Call to Action will bring together thought leaders from across the automotive industry to discuss best practices of Lean Product Development
The most recent JD Power Initial Quality Survey (IQS) showed two-thirds of issues identified by owners were design related rather than manufacturing related. Building on the last update of the industry's OEM customer requirements reference manual - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP 2nd Edition) released in 2008, North American OEM's, and many of the Tier 1 suppliers recognize the importance and are working to improve their product development/creation business processes by integrating some of the Lean Product Development concepts, models, and metrics that will be discussed during this event including:
• Knowledge Management vs. Part Management
• Set Based Rules and Trade Off Curves
• Test-then-Design Concepts
