Lenovo Receives Top AA+ Rating in 2022 Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index - Receiving the Best Score in the IT Industry for Second Year in a Row
HONG KONG, October 5, 2022 /3BL Media/ – Lenovo is pleased to report that it has been included in the 2022 Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index with the best score in the IT industry, receiving an AA+ rating for the second year in a row.
The rating from the Hang Seng Index relies on a sustainability assessment methodology which has been updated this year to reflect the increasing demand for climate-related disclosure and emissions reduction data by the investor community.
Among more than 575 Hong Kong-listed companies, Lenovo’s ESG performance was evaluated in seven areas from corporate governance, to human rights and consumer issues. Lenovo received its highest scores in the area of labor practices and community involvement. The AA+ score reflects Lenovo’s continuous commitment and efforts on environmental, social, and governance aspects.
Lenovo recently released its 16th annual ESG report for fiscal year 2021-2022highlighting record-breaking philanthropic impact with ~$24 million in charitable giving, marking a new ‘high’ for the company’s annual giving. In addition, Lenovo increased participation in the circular economy, integrating new recycled materials such as magnesium, aluminum, and ocean-bound plastic across its range of products. Lenovo has also set a vision to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, with targets currently under review for validation from the Science Based Targets initiative.
