Leading Consumer Electronics, Appliance and Mobile Phone Brand Provides Ultimate Interactive Fan Experience, Fights Climate Change
INDIANAPOLIS, April 7, 2015 /3BL Media/ – Official NCAA Corporate Partner LG Electronics USA helped fans “Do Game Day Right™” for the NCAA Men’s Final Four with its “LG Training Facility” on-site fan experience featuring ENERGY STAR certified consumer electronics and appliance products at the Final Four Fan Fest presented by Capital One®.
“Final Four weekend offers passionate fans and the whole family a unique opportunity to show their tournament spirit and connect with their favorite teams,” said William Cho, president and CEO, LG Electronics USA, a proud 2015 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year. “Between the ultimate game day experience we deliver at home with our innovative ENERGY STAR certified products and the engaging LG onsite activities at the Final Four this year, there are even more fans of Team LG that find new ways to Do Game Day Right.”
Creating the ultimate family-friendly fan experience for NCAA March Madness® enthusiasts, dozens of innovative LG products, including ENERGY STAR certified OLED TVs, LED TVs and home appliances, as well as LG smartphones, were featured in the “LG Training Facility,” a centerpiece of the Final Four Fan Fest at the Indiana Convention Center.
Fans who entered the 4,500-square-foot LG Training Facility tested their skills for the chance to be a part of Team LG and earn recruitment points as they play along. Fans of all ages earned recruiting points and scored giveaways in the LG Training Facility by participating in a number of fun activities:
- LG’s “Letter of Intent” Challenge allows fans to sign up for the “Change the World- Start with ENERGY STAR” pledge.
- LG’s “Fill the Fridge Game” asks fans to guess how many drinks are in the ENERGY STAR certified LG Door-in-Door™ refrigerator.
- LG’s “Speed Cycle Challenge” challenges fans to toss mini basketballs into the ENERGY STAR certified LG front-load washing machines against the shot clock.
- LG’s “Flick It Basketball Challenge” allows fans to interact with ENERGY STAR certified LG OLED TVs and LG G Flex2 smartphones by “flicking” a virtual basketball shot from the smartphone onto the TV.
- LG’s “Music Flow Station” lets users set the tune by tweeting their music choices to a DJ to play songs throughout the training facility on LG’s new Music Flow multi-room audio system.
- LG’s “4K Dunk Cam” will live stream content to LG’s 4K ULTRA HD TV as basketball enthusiasts attempt to dunk a basket.
- LG’s Game Table allows you to challenge a friend to a game of soccer on a touch- screen LG monitor.
ENERGY STAR also was highlighted as LG tipped off the Final Four week of fan experiences with an electronics recycling initiative at Lucas Oil Stadium. The NCAA and the Indianapolis Local Organizing Committee Sustainability group hosted the March 28 event, in cooperation with NCAA Corporate Partner LG Electronics, as a core element of a series of initiatives intended to make this year’s Men’s Final Four greener.
Hundreds of local fans brought in 12.5 tons of old TVs, monitors, computers and cell phones for responsible recycling ahead of the big weekend. LG encouraged Hoosiers to replace their recycled electronics with ENERGY STAR certified TVs and computer monitors, which will help save energy and flight climate change.
