This is Liberty Global’s fifth CR Report. It outlines the company’s focus on the positive potential of connectivity, digital entertainment and technology; areas where Liberty Global invests, innovates and helps empower people to make the most of the digital age.
Highlights of the 2015 CR Report include:
- Supporting the CoderDojo Foundation, a global community of free coding clubs for children to enable the next generation of creators, and improving their long-term career prospects;
- Helping start-up companies in Belgium and the UK break into the market so that they can improve lives, using tailored mentoring, networking, marketing and financing opportunities;
- Protecting customers from malware through its partnership with Microsoft's Digital Crimes Unit and global cyber security leader, Synopsys;
- Joining the ICT Coalition for Children Online, which helps young people in Europe make the most of their digital lives, becoming better equipped to handle challenges and risks;
- Reducing the company’s market-based carbon emissions by 10%, and improving its overall energy efficiency by 29% this year. Liberty Global is now 3x more carbon efficient than it was in 2012;

“As a global business operating in more than 30 countries worldwide, we know that we have a unique opportunity to use the internet and our digital infrastructure to improve the lives of people,” said Rick Westerman, Senior Vice President, Corporate Responsibility. “This year’s report clearly illustrates the way in which Liberty Global is harnessing connectivity to teach the leaders of tomorrow, sparking positive change and accelerating innovation to benefit communities around the globe. We will continue building on this strong foundation in the years to come.”
