Lockheed Martin’s Focus on Employee Safety
Lockheed Martin employees celebrated National Safety Month in June with informative and interactive “Safety Day” events at facilities across the company. Hosted by Lockheed Martin’s dedicated Environmental, Safety and Health (ESH) teams, the events included demonstrations of personal protective equipment, expired-medication collection services and free physical therapy consultations, among other offerings.
“At Lockheed Martin, safety is shared responsibility – whether you work in a production setting or an office environment,” said Lockheed Martin Vice President of Environment, Safety and Health Carol B. Cala. “National Safety Month is a great opportunity to remind our global workforce that their health and safety is critical to delivering on our customers missions.”
Lockheed Martin invests in employee safety and health initiatives throughout the year, including the company’s beyond-compliance “Target Zero” program, which helps ensure safe work conditions. The corporation’s risk-based management approach promotes targeted safety interventions, addresses prioritized workplace risks and hazards and develops preventive processes to keep employees and contractors safe.
