McDonough’s Henry County Middle School to Receive Grant from Recyclebank for Green Schools Program
School will use grant to fund sustainable art projects
MCDONOUGH, GA. May 5, 2014 /3BL Media/ —On Monday May 5, Henry County Middle School will be awarded a grant from the Recyclebank® Green Schools Program at a ceremony held at the school and show off its newest upcycled art project. The Recyclebank Green Schools Program annually awards grants to schools across the U.S. for unique environmental projects that make a positive impact on students and their communities. Henry County Middle School’s project is a continuation of its award winning “book tree” which debuted in 2013. Under the guidance of teacher Melissa Wood, students use materials bound for the landfill to create thought provoking works of art. The ceremony will include remarks by representatives from the City of McDonough, Henry County Middle School, Recyclebank, and Republic Services.
