Merck Earns Top Score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index for the 8th year in a row
Company designated a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality every year since 2002
For the eighth year in a row, Merck has earned a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) and been designated a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality in the United States. The Corporate Equality Index (CEI) is the national benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices pertinent to LGBTQ employees.

“Across the company, we are continuing to build stronger, more diverse and inclusive teams. For example, Merck Rainbow Alliance, our employee business resource group for LGBTQ employees and allies, has seen a 55% increase in membership and launched ten new chapters in the last year.”
The results of this year’s CEI showcase how 1,059 U.S.-based companies are not only promoting LGBTQ-friendly workplace policies in the U.S., but helping advance the cause of LGBTQ inclusion in workplaces abroad. The full report, is available online at www.hrc.org/cei.
