Merck Named to 100 Best Corporate Citizens of 2020
Company is ranked No. 1 in industry on the 2020 100 Best Corporate Citizens list
3BL Media has named Merck to its annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens ranking, recognizing outstanding environmental, social and governance (ESG) transparency and performance among the 1,000 largest, U.S. public companies.
On the 2020 list, Merck ranked No.11 across all industries, up from No. 26 in 2019, and ranked No.1 in the pharmaceutical, biotech and life sciences industry. The company has been included on the 100 Best Corporate Citizens list 11 times since 2009.
“This recognition speaks to the strength of our company’s commitment to responsible business practices and policies that guide our steps and ensure we do the right thing for all stakeholders even during these challenging times,” says Brenda Colatrella, associate vice president, corporate responsibility, Merck.
The 100 Best Corporate Citizens ranking is based on 141 ESG transparency and performance factors in eight pillars: climate change, employee relations, environment, finance, governance, human rights, stakeholders and society, and ESG performance.
