Musim Mas Distributed 23,400 Doses of Covid-19 Vaccines to Help Accelerate Herd Immunity

As support for the government, which is conducting a Covid-19 vaccination program, Musim Mas Group is helping to accelerate herd immunity through vaccination programs for workers, workers' families, and communities around the company.

The number of vaccinations distributed from August until now is at 23,400 vaccines doses and is continuing.

In this Mutual Cooperation Vaccination activity, Musim Mas collaborates with Biofarma and the local government. Musim Mas and its subsidiaries also vaccinated 2,000 Primary Credit Cooperative Members (KKPA – Kooperasi Kredit Primer Anggota), the community, and school children as part of their CSR activities.

GM Corporate Affairs of Musim Mas Group, Gunawan Siregar, explained this vaccination activities will be held from August to October 2021. PT Musim Mas and its six subsidiaries, namely PT Berkat Sawit Sejati (BSS), PT Guntung Idaman Nusa (GIN), PT Sukajadi Sawit Mekar (SSM), PT Maju Aneka Sawit (MAS), PT Unggul Lestari (UL), and PT Multipersada Gatramegah (MPG).

The Covid-19 vaccination activity carried out by Musim Mas is a Mutual Cooperation Vaccination (VGR – Vaksinasi Gotong Royong), as mandated by the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Number 19 of 2021, concerning the Second Amendment to the Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 10 of 2021 concerning the Implementation of Vaccination in the Context of Combating the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Musim Mas Group uses the Sinopharm vaccine through the Mutual Cooperation Vaccination scheme. "To make the Mutual Cooperation Vaccination program a success, Musim Mas is collaborating with PT Bio Farma as the business entity appointed to provide the Covid-19 vaccine in the Mutual Cooperation Vaccine program," said Gunawan in a press release, 15th October.

The Sinopharm vaccine is a corona vaccine that has received approval from the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM – Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan). Sinopharm is a vaccine with an Inactivated Virus platform or a virus that has been weakened to expose the immune system to viruses without risking a serious disease response.

The main target of this vaccination activity is focused on workers, their families, and the surrounding community. This is done to ensure that the workers of Musim Mas subsidiaries and their family members are protected from the dangers of Covid-19 and help the government accelerate Herd Immunity in Indonesia.

Gunawan said that Musim Mas held this program as part of the company's concern to create herd immunity for workers, workers' families, and the environment around the company by supporting the government's Mutual Cooperation Vaccination program.

According to him, there are some obstacles faced in the implementation of vaccination, including workers, their families, or the community who are not willing to be vaccinated because they receive a lot of negative information outside. As a solution, the company actively conducts continuous socialization in providing understanding, and there is an increase in those willing to be vaccinated.

"While the vaccination exercise has been done, the company continues to implement the health and Covid-19 prevention protocols. The company also continues to provide special socialization to all workers and their families, and the community so that they can continue to carry out the health protocols in their daily lives," he hopes.
