William McDonough, Jon Miller and Lucy Parker to Present Live from NAEM Forum
October 9, 2014 /3BL Media/ - Those corporate environment, health and safety (EHS) and sustainability leaders who cannot travel to this year's NAEM Forum in Austin will have a new way to experience the some of the inspiring dialogue from the conference—all from the convenience of their work station. NAEM announced today it will webcast the keynote presentations by sustainability thought leader William McDonough, and communications strategists Jon Miller and Lucy Parker, Partners at The Brunswick Group.
“It’s not always possible for our members to make it to every event, but we know they still need access to fresh ideas as they finalize their planning for next year,” said NAEM Deputy Director Virginia Hoekenga. “These webcasts will give viewers an opportunity to think about the work they do in the broader context of the circular economy and society’s interest in sustainable business.”
On Oct. 22 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. (EST), sustainability thought leader William McDonough will open NAEM’s annual conference with an address on the business case for the circular economy. A renowned pioneer in sustainable design, Mr. McDonough has incorporated the “cradle to cradle” concept of design into his architecture and consulting work for clients such as General Electric, Alcoa, The Coca-Cola Co., Dow Chemical Co. and The City of Chicago.
During his presentation before more than 500 corporate EHS & Sustainability leaders, Mr. McDonough will make the business case that it's time for companies to move from a “take and make” model to a “circular economy”, in which the products and services they create positive value for the world. He will also identify case studies and specific steps that corporate leaders can take to incorporate these concepts into their own operations.
On Oct. 23 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. (EST), Jon Miller and Lucy Parker, Partners at The Brunswick Group, will describe the opportunity for businesses to play a leadership role in solving societal and environmental challenges. They will draw on insights they described in their recent book “Everybody’s Business: The Unlikely Story of How Big Business Can Fix the World” to help viewers think creatively about setting goals and communicating their unique role in the world.
