Chicago, IL, October 12, 2016 /3BL Media/ – Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) is ranked number 1 in Chicago United’s 2016 diversity report, Inside Inclusion Featuring the Corporate Diversity Profile. ADM secured the top spot out of 50 public Chicago companies based on ethnic diversity within the company’s Board of Directors and in its leadership ranks.

“I commend ADM for their commitment to championing diversity and inclusion in the agriculture industry,” said Dennis Kennedy, Founder and Chair of National Diversity Council. “It is my hope that their continued success will inspire other organizations to follow in their footsteps.”

ADM has also led the effort to improve industry-wide diversity by founding the Agriculture Diversity & Inclusion Consortium, which brings together 45 organizations and people—including industry, experts from leading universities and non-profit organizations, and government officials including Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack—to identify ways to build the industry’s pipeline of diverse talent at a time when job openings are outpacing the number of graduates available to fill them.

“We appreciate the great work that the National Diversity Council is doing, and we are honored to be recognized by them,” said Mike D’Ambrose, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Archer Daniels Midland Company. “We’re making real progress, both at ADM and within the wider agriculture industry. For our industry to continue to feed the world in the 21st century, we’re going to need a deep pipeline of diverse talent. And both we and our competitors know that without targeted actions and interventions, that pipeline won’t be filled. We’re proud to work with others in business, academia and government to make this happen. Our attitude is either we will all win together, or we don’t win at all.”
