National Grid on Creating an Ecosystem: A Connect21 Video

Campaign: Connect21

“Anytime we engage with a developer or business owner to undertake a project, we recommend that National Grid be one of the first calls that they make.” Ben Walsh, Deputy Commissioner Neighborhood & Business Development, Syracuse says matter-of-factly. He explains that National Grid knows best about the state of the electrical infrastructure, available upgrades, and feasibility of projects.

In fact, 300 cities, towns, and villages within Central New York depend on National Grid to help build a future teeming with renewable energy, microgrids, and nanotechnology. From Clarkson University, to Byrne Dairy, to FX Matt Brewing Company, to Hotel Syracuse, the region is powering up a new economy.

On this stop in our Connect21 video series, meet some of the people who call Central New York home, and hear their stories of growth and innovation.

Our video series started with an overview of Connect21 and includes footage of the important infrastructure projects we are working on in each of our jurisdictions. Visit here to watch any you’ve missed. Here are a few more projects you can look forward to learning about:

- New England Energy Strategy
- Interstate Reliability Project (Providence, RI)
- Overview of Downstate New York

We’ll feature a new video around every three weeks, so be sure to check back often. We hope you’ll give us your feedback in the comments section below as you take the series’ tour. The future of energy belongs to all of us, and we want to hear your voice.
