New Hampshire Liquor Commission & Brown-Forman Provide Recommendations for Safe, Responsible Fall Tailgating Season
Collaboration offers strategies for businesses to serve responsibly and profitably along with cocktail and food recipes for at-home entertaining
CONCORD, N.H., September 24, 2015 /3BL Media/ - As summer fades and attention shifts to the fall season and the sporting events that come with it, the New Hampshire Liquor Commission and Brown-Forman are encouraging safe and responsible alcohol consumption by providing lounge and restaurant owners and the general public with creative resources focused on responsible alcohol service and consumption. This emphasis on safe alcohol consumption while tailgating and home-gating is a component of Live Free and Host Responsibly, a first-of-its-kind partnership between one of the country’s most well-respected and profitable control states and one of the largest American-owned spirits and wine companies.
“Whether you are hosting a party at home or inviting guests into your establishment for the big game, the New Hampshire Liquor Commission and Brown-Forman encourage you to do so safely and responsibly,” said NHLC Chairman Joseph Mollica.
For the fall season, the Liquor Commission and Brown-Forman are offering tips for restaurant and lounge employees on how to serve responsibly and profitably by incorporating non-alcoholic mocktails to drink menus, training bartenders to measure their pours, creating food and drink specials and partnering with local transportation services. Consumers will learn how to be a responsible host and help guests celebrate with a refreshing pigskin punch with low alcohol and alcohol-free variations paired with buffalo chicken sliders.
A newly-released video on the Liquor Commission’s responsibility web page www.liquorandwineoutlets.com/responsibility features Tim Laird, America’s Chief Entertaining Officer for Brown-Forman, teaching viewers how to make each version of the cocktail and the food pairing. Laird is an authority on wines and spirits, a gourmet chef and master at entertaining. He makes hundreds of appearances a year on radio and television programs and has appeared on The Today Show, The CBS Early Show, Fox & Friends, The Tonight Show; ABC World News Now and the CNN, FOX News and CNBC networks.
“As one of the largest American-owned wine and spirits companies, we are committed to encouraging our customers to enjoy our products in a responsible manner,” said Taylor Amerman, North American Region Responsibility Manager for Brown-Forman. “We are fortunate to have a partner in the New Hampshire Liquor Commission that shares this commitment.”
