I am very pleased to announce that NortonLifeLock scored 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index (CEI) for the third year in a row. This national benchmarking tool rates corporate policies, practices, and benefits to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer employees. It has been credited as the primary driving force for LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion.
The Corporate Equality Index scores businesses on four central pillars: non-discrimination policies; equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families; supporting an inclusive culture; and corporate social responsibility. We are so proud to be named one of the Best Places to Work for LGTBQ+ Equality because it reflects our commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion and showcases the tangible positive impacts we have created within our company and our communities. For our employees, NortonLifeLock ensures full spousal and partner health care coverage parity and offers transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage. We also support organizations advocating and offering services for LGBTQ+ communities.
In addition to the CEI, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRCF) is a nonprofit that uses public education, research, and policy and practice change to impact LGBTQ+ participation in schools, places of worship, and places of employment. HRCF’s successful impact is a result of its strategic partnerships that affect change and build the capacity of community advocates globally.
As part of our commitment to LGBTQ+ rights and inclusion, in June, NortonLifeLock provided a $50,000 grant to the HRCF’s Welcoming Schools Program. This program is an anti-bias based bullying prevention program that provides LGBTQ+ specific training and resources with an intersectional lens. To date, our support has provided LGBTQ+ inclusive training to 16,398 educators across the U.S. through 176 trainings, impacting 984,000 K-12 students.
Out & Equal (O&E) is another key partner of ours. O&E works globally on LGBTQ+ workplace equality. It utilizes worldwide programs, partnerships with major global employers and government agencies, learning and development offerings, and an annual Workplace Summit conference, to create and sustain cultures of belonging for all.
Since June, nine NortonLifeLock employees attended O&E’s Workplace Summit to learn and share best practices on workplace equality. O&E spoke at our virtual all-employee PRIDE event in June to help bring awareness and education to global LGBTQ+ inclusion. O&E also hosted an Executive Forum and we sent two executives to learn best practices on leading and supporting our LGBTQ+ workforce. We look forward to the two learning and development webinars O&E will provide to our employees later this year.
Part of our $55,000 grant commitment to O&E also supports its general programmatic activities. This includes more than 200 annual partner trainings and presentations ranging from the fundamentals of LGBTQ+ inclusion at work, to nonbinary identities, pronouns, intersectionality, allyship, and more.
NortonLifeLock champions workplace safety and equality for all employees and will continue to further our commitment by investing in high-impact nonprofits that increase representation and inclusion.
