Owens Corning Earns Spot on the Corporate Knights 100 Most Sustainable Corporations List
Owens Corning has been ranked #15 on the list overall, and earned the #1 spot for the Building Materials Industry Group.
The ranking is based on publicly-disclosed data that covers 24 key performance indicators. These KPIs touch on significant aspects of corporate ESG results, including resource management, employee management, financial management, clean revenue & clean investment, and supplier performance.
Owens Corning’s portfolio of energy-saving products contributed to a best-in-class score for “Clean Revenue,” which was weighted at over 42% of the score for 2021. The company’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, switching to renewable electricity, and other footprint reduction goals is reflected in data published in its annual sustainability report.
This year, Corporate Knights included new KPIs covering social concerns. Owens Corning’s ongoing work to expand its social handprint – support for the well-being of people and communities – is also a significant component of the company's published sustainability report.
"Being included on the Corporate Knights list is another recognition of the way our people and products make the world a better place," said Julie Childers, corporate sustainability director. "The fact that we ranked well just shows that on the dimensions that matter to ESG investors, we're headed in the right direction."
