Piedmont Petroleum Raises Funds for Safe Harbor Organization Through Club CITGO App Promotion
CITGO Corner Mart Locations in Greenville Support Local Victims of Domestic Violence
GREENVILLE, S.C., Feb. 24, 2017 /3BL Media/ – CITGO Petroleum Corporation Marketer, Piedmont Petroleum, recently raised $20,000 for Safe Harbor, Inc., a local non-profit organization dedicated to making a difference for victims of domestic violence and their children.
Through a Club CITGO mobile app promotion, local community members visited participating CITGO Corner Mart locations in the Greenville area and used the app to claim a special deal and donate $5 to Safe Harbor, raising approximately $5,000 in total. Piedmont Petroleum contributed the remaining $15,000 to the organization.
“Safe Harbor serves the Upstate of South Carolina area with crisis intervention by providing safe emergency shelter, counseling, legal advocacy and transitional housing for local victims of domestic abuse,” said Amanda Manly, director of development and communications at Safe Harbor. “This generous donation from Piedmont Petroleum and its CITGO Corner Mart locations will allow Safe Harbor to continue our mission and work to help these domestic abuse victims along with their children.”
Safe Harbor also advocates for domestic violence prevention through community outreach and teen dating violence education in the counties of Greenville, Pickens, Anderson and Oconee.
