Players Trust to Participate in 2015 Cantor Fitzgerald Charity Day
On Friday, September 11, New York Yankees designated hitter Alex Rodriguez will do some trading of his own – but not the baseball variety – when he represents the Players Trust at Cantor Fitzgerald’s annual Charity Day.
Each year to mark the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers, Cantor Fitzgerald and the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund invite celebrity guests who represent participating charities to its offices to conduct trades with licensed brokers and their clients. Every year on Charity Day, Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Partners honor those who perished on 9/11 by distributing 100% of global revenues to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund. Grants are then individually distributed to hundreds of charities worldwide.
This year, the Players Trust was one of more than 40 charities selected to participate in Charity Day. Joining the Players Trust as charitable partners in 2015 are non-profits including CC Sabathia’s PitCCh In Foundation, Children in Crisis, Friends of Firefighters, Generation Rescue, Self Help Africa, Solving Kids Cancer and Wounded Warrior Project, to name a few.
To date Charity Day has raised approximately $113 million for charitable causes around the world, and since its inception the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund has raised and distributed over $270 million.
