Quarterback to Wave the Pro Bono Flag for MBAs
Social Enterprise Quarterback to Celebrate Global Pro Bono Week
October 1, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Quarterback, a social enterprise startup driving mutual advancement among nonprofits and MBAs, announces its participation in global Pro Bono Week from October 20-26, 2013. Founded in 2012, Quarterback offers a groundbreaking professional development and social impact program designed for the world’s top MBA candidates. “Our focus on the future leaders of the business world gives us a unique opportunity to activate and empower the pro bono ethic early in professionals’ careers,” said Founder and CEO Brian Gloede. “Pro Bono Week gives us a chance to highlight and celebrate the accomplishments of the next leaders of the pro bono movement: our Quarterbacks.”
During Pro Bono Week, Quarterback is recognizing its inaugural cohort of participating MBAs (“Quarterbacks”) and nonprofit partners with a retrospective on their experiences featuring interviews, blog posts, and a visual representation of the program’s impact. The retrospective will highlight how the experiential program—which places talented participants at the helm of key strategic and operational projects in high-potential nonprofits for 10-12 weeks—presents an unparalleled opportunity to develop and exercise career-building skills (entrepreneurial thinking, creative problem solving, business judgment, and leadership) while expanding the impact and reach of nonprofit partners.
In addition to the retrospective, Quarterback is unveiling an exciting new partnership during global Pro Bono Week. The national partnership will empower and sustain the pro bono ethic among the current and future alumni of its programs.

About Pro Bono Service
Pro bono--short for pro bono publico, "for the public good"—refers to professional services delivered without expectation of a fee to organizations serving the social good. It is both a form of support for community organizations as well as an increasingly core part of the ethic of business professionals from design to HR and technology, who believe that high-quality professional services are too important to only be available to those who can afford them.
