Quest Receives Bronze Class Sustainability Award 2016
January 22, 2016 /3BL Media/ - As one of the top-scoring companies in our industry, Quest Diagnostics has qualified for inclusion in the 2016 edition of RobecoSAM’ s “The Sustainability Yearbook.” In the “Health Care Providers & Services” category, we received the Bronze Class distinction for our excellent sustainability performance. This is the third consecutive year that we’ve received the Bronze Class distinction. See our ranking here (Internet access required).
RobecoSAM is the same company that determines the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (see our most recent recognition). Quest received the Bronze Class distinction because our score was within a range of 5% to 10% from the industry leader’s score (Humana Inc. led the way in 2016).
Every year since 2004, The Sustainability Yearbook has listed the world’s most sustainable companies in each industry as determined by their score in RobecoSAM’ s annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA).
The CSA consists of an annual analysis of the sustainability performance of more than 2,000 companies covering the major indices. Following on from the first CSA conducted in 1999, RobecoSAM has built one of the largest proprietary databases for corporate sustainability.
CSA features systematic methodology
The annual assessment is based on an online questionnaire supported by company documentation. Analyses of company-specific information are complemented by an additional examination of media coverage, stakeholder commentaries and other publicly available sources.
The CSA questionnaire features about 100 questions on economic, environmental and social issues with a focus on industry-specific criteria that have a material impact on companies’ ability to generate long-term value. The CSA is regularly updated and adapted to capture new sustainability trends that are at the forefront of each industry sector and that are likely to have an impact on companies’ competitive landscape.
