(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) NEW YORK, NY—WEDNESDAY, FEB. 2, 2011—Recyclebank®, a sustainable action platform that motivates and enables individuals to make an enormous collective impact on the environment, today announced Chief Sustainability Officer Ian Yolles and Chief Revenue Officer Samantha Skey will both participate on panels during Social Media Week New York. Social Media Week, which takes place from Feb. 7-11 in nine cities across the world, is a series of biannual conferences that brings hundreds of thousands of people together to advance the understanding of social media’s role in society.   In his panel presentation “Consumer Activism: A New Economy of Social Change,” Yolles will discuss movement-building techniques that help consumers recognize their collective buying power to drive lasting change. Yolles will also share insights on the role brands play in solving major global problems, using his work ensuring the company maintains its role as an authentic green lifestyle brand in all facets of its business to guide his perspective. Yolles comes from a long history of helping brands such as Nike, Nau and Patagonia differentiate themselves on their strong commitment to sustainability. As part of his role as Recyclebank’s chief sustainability officer, Yolles also leads the company’s newly formed Sustainability Advisory Council, an assemblage of thought leaders across sustainability, business and nongovernmental organizations.     Skey will lend her 17 years of experience in social and digital marketing to Social Media Week’s “Gamify Me: How Game Mechanics are Infiltrating Brand Marketing,” panel. In the session, Skey will discuss how marketers can use gaming dynamics to advance a brand’s objectives—from environmental impact to product sales. Borrowing from her early days in development of the Riddler Network—one of the Web’s earliest competitive gaming platforms—and her experience in digital advocacy for the CNET, Disney, and Alloy assets, Skey has been an essential evangelist in rapidly expanding Recyclebank’s digital platform to engage a broader audience, engaging the Recyclebank consumer experience and scaling its online and offline reward programs. Skey’s team works with brand partners such as General Mills, Johnson & Johnson and The Coca-Cola Company® to create marketing campaigns that engage and inspire consumers to take environmentally preferred actions as a means to promote sustainable consumption and foster brand loyalty.   Details on Yolles’ presentation are as follows: Who:       Ian Yolles, Chief Sustainability Officer, Recyclebank                Jeffrey Hollender, Founder/ Former CEO, 7th Generation                Phil Radford, Executive Director, Greenpeace USA                Jason Rzepka, VP of Public Affairs, MTV                Eliza Esquivel, Planning Director, TBWA/ Author of Social Activism 2.0                Danielle Sacks, Senior Writer, Fast Company                Moderated by Alnoor Ladha, Director of Strategy, Purpose   What:      “Consumer Activism: A New Economy of Social Change” panel presentation Where:     People & Society Hub at The Paley Center for Media, New York City When:      Monday, Feb. 7 from 9 - 11 a.m. EST   Details on Skey’s session are as follows: Who:       Samantha Skey, Chief Revenue Officer, Recyclebank                Gabe Zicherman, author, Game-Based Marketing                Rajat Paharia, Chief Product Officer, Bunchball                Moderated by David Rosenberg, Director of Emerging Media, JWT New York   What:      “Gamify Me: How Game Mechanics are Infiltrating Brand Marketing” panel presentation Where:     Business, Media & Communications Hub at JWT, New York City When:      Tuesday, Feb. 8 from 2 - 4 p.m. EST   ABOUT RECYCLEBANK® Recyclebank® is the leading environmental social platform that realizes the collective impact of individual action.
