The panel, “Competitive Couponing: Social, Monetary and Personal Validation through Online Deal Hunting,” gathers leading minds from The Coca-Cola Company®, Blissmo and eBay that have employed ‘The Deal’, or Coupons 2.0, to drive everything from customer loyalty to environmental impact.

For the past 120 years, coupons have kept consumers snipping, searching and congratulating themselves in pursuit of a deal. From competitive sport and aspirational escape to virtual community and personal affirmation, the Deal has become a worthy challenge for American consumers, not just a money-saving opportunity but a personal experience. Skey and her fellow panelists will discuss how brands can make the coupon pay dividends, and deliver well beyond the BOGO or 15 percent discount it once conferred.  The digital landscape, through a combination of local, social and mobile opportunities, has elevated deal seeking to a deeply engaging and, in some cases, personally fulfilling pass time. Skey will discuss the magic of Coupons 2.0, which lies in the employment of a behavioral economics framework to drive consumer behavior change. Panelists will offer additional insights as to how companies have effectively employed ‘The Deal’ to boost everything from customer loyalty to environmental impact.

Skey began her digital career in 1994 at Interactive Imaginations’ award-winning Riddler, one of the web’s first real-time, multi-player, reward-based gaming sites.
