In the report, you will find information on the Group’s sustainability initiatives and achievements over the last financial year, as well as case studies and performance data showing progress over time.
For the Group, sustainability means continuing to build a successful business today while creating enduring value for the Group’s customers, people, shareholders and for the wider community. This means:
- Driving sustainable business practices across the business, focusing on productivity and accountability;
- Providing responsible financial services through innovations such as CommBank Kaching for Facebook, Australia's first social media banking application, or tailored financial solutions for not-for-profit organisations;
- Supporting employees to work flexibly and developing an engaged and talented workforce;
- Focusing on community contribution and action, with the delivery of financial literacy education to more than 280,000 students across the country through Commonwealth Bank Foundation programs or the provision of career opportunities to Indigenous jobseekers; and
- Committing to environmental stewardship, by exceeding the target of a 20 per cent reduction in the Group’s carbon emissions and actively supporting the transition to a low carbon economy.
The sustainability performance data was independently assured by KPMG.
