The Annual Report makes significant progress towards the principles of the IIRC's Integrated Reporting Framework and the supporting Plan A Report launches Plan A 2020, 100 new, revised and existing commitments structured using M&S's new guiding principles of: Inspiration, Intouch, Integrity and Innovation.
- The launch of Plan A 2020
- The extension of carbon neutrality to all M&S operated and joint venture activities worldwide.
- M&S becoming the first retailer to achieve triple certification to the Carbon Trust's Carbon, Waste and Water Standards.
- Over 1,450 young unemployed people offered work experience and training under M&S's Make Your Mark scheme.
- The collaborative founding of the Movement to Work scheme with other large employers to offer 100,00 work experience and training opportunities to young unemployed people over two years.
- Training for over half a million people in its General Merchandise supply chain.
- The opening of the company's latest Sustainable Learning Store at Vanguarde Monks Cross, York.
- The launch of the Global Community Plan to benefit communities in regions of the world where M&S products are sourced.
The 2014 Plan A report is independently assured to ISAE3000 and AA1000AS also adopts a form of GRI G4 index.
