(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) October 21, 2010 - Microsoft has announced its 2010 Citizenship Report, which is available online at http://www.reportalert.info/ra/profiles/Microsoft/2010/?ID=30831. This is Microsoft’s most comprehensive report to date incorporating input from nearly 100 internal subject matter experts across the company. For the first time, Microsoft released its Citizenship Report in tandem with its annual financial report to provide an enhanced view of the interconnections between its Citizenship efforts and its business.

The report covers Microsoft’s performance and progress on a broad range of Corporate Citizenship areas over the past fiscal year (July 2009-June 2010). It also details the outlook for fiscal year 2011. Chapters are framed under two main sections:

- Extending the Benefits of Technology, including topics such as Technology for Education, Technology for Nonprofits, Jobs & Innovation, and Humanitarian Response.

- Operating Responsibly, detailing the company’s business practices on topics ranging from Environmental Sustainability and Responsible Sourcing to Privacy & Online Safety.

Microsoft welcomes stakeholder input on both its Citizenship efforts and reporting, and the company hopes that the information shared in this year’s report fosters an ongoing dialogue on how to better harness the power of technology to meet the world's biggest challenges.
