The report provides a snapshot of the business and how NAB has delivered against its strategy in 2010.  It presents highlights and challenges across its businesses and corporate responsibility agenda, focused by an assessment of material issues.  Highlights for 2010 include:

  • Delivering growth in Business Bank performance, based on a strong commitment to customers in an environment of contracted lending.

  • Delivering fairer banking, including: abolishing a range of fees; offering the most competitive standard variable home loan rate of the big four Australian banks for more than a year; and announcing changes to credit card payment schemes to benefit the customer.

  • Delivering the largest improvement in Personal Banking customer satisfaction, compared to other major Australian banks.

  • Reducing customer complaints by over 23% across the Australian businesses.

  • Improving employee engagement and being the only major Australian bank cited as an Employer of Choice for Women by EOWA.

  • Becoming Australia’s first carbon neutral bank.

  • Contributing 20,718 volunteer days to the community.

  • Investing over $61.9 million in communities.


NAB continues to use the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 framework and the Financial Sector Supplement to guide reporting.  NAB’s reporting includes an external assurance statement on the provision of a balanced representation of material issues and accurate CR metrics.
