(3BL Media) May 30, 2012 - Sanofi’s 2011 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report has just been launched.
This year’s report, addresses close to 50 CSR topics with a focus on the Group’s 12 CSR priorities which have been defined across its four pillars: Patients, People, Ethics and Planet.
The report is available at: http://CSRReporting.sanofi.com. This year Sanofi also published a "Travel Log 2012-2013".
Below are highlights of the major Group achievements across the priorities:
Patients
• Access to Healthcare: In addition to many patient support programs in 2011, the Group invested more than €54 million for access to healthcare programs focusing on capacity building, training, and products availability and affordability.
• Innovation for patients:
iBGStar®- an innovative blood glucose meter created to connect to the iPhone® and iPod® touch;
Sanofi Pasteur’s dengue fever candidate vaccine received the “Best Prophylactic Vaccine” award at the World Vaccine Congress.
Ethics
• Responsible procurement: Launched a pilot project in 2011 to assess the compliance of 50 suppliers with Sanofi CSR standards. Sanofi is committed to help suppliers address CSR issues where improvement is needed.
• Ethics in clinical trials: helped healthcare professionals in developing countries overcome obstacles by providing valuable product development information as well as training regarding conducting clinical trials and technical support.
People
• Diversity: provided support and advice to managers and the Diversity country delegate network and provided awareness-raising initiatives for employees at various countries.
• Health and safety: Reduced the lost time injury frequency rate for the sixth consecutive year, reaching a record low of 1.8.
Planet
• Energy and carbon footprint: Sanofi (Merial not included) reached a decrease of 15.6% in indirect CO2 emissions two years ahead of the target year of 2013.
• Water management: Reduced overall water consumption by 5% in 2011 compared to 2010 absolute data.
