Republic Services Driver Saves A Life

Republic Services recognized one of our Phoenix-area drivers for helping to save someone's life. Russell Erfle was on route early on Sunday morning, January 10. He was replacing a caster at one of his stops and he thought he heard something when his truck automatically turned off. Russ made the decision to break off his route and go to the transfer station without packing his collection load. When he opened the truck, there was a very intoxicated man in the back of the truck. Russ called 911 right away and waited with the man until help arrived. The paramedics extracted the man and he walked away from the incident uninjured. Russ made smart decisions that saved this homeless man's life. In appreciation, Russ was presented a certificate and recognized in front of his Republic Services local team. Republic thanks Russ for helping save a life.
