Republic Services Makes Donation to Inez Kinney Gaylord Emergency Shelter
It’s that time of the year, the time of the year for giving. That’s exactly what the women of the Republic Services’ Southeast Landfill in Oklahoma City did.
They collected donations for the Inez Kinney Gaylord Emergency Shelter, a shelter located in Oklahoma City, OK. This shelter provides not only a place to stay, but a number of services for battered women and children. It is the only shelter in Oklahoma County of its kind.
The donations came in faster than anyone had anticipated. In just three weeks, Republic collected and donated over 530 toys and over 100 toiletries to the shelter. Republic also donated the remaining cash to the shelter from the employee donations.
A special thank you to Republic employees Christy Stroman, Dorothy Kyker, and Marketta Davis who are the women behind this great effort. Republic thanks all of the families, customers, employees and drivers who helped make this possible through their donations, volunteer time, and helping to spread the word to others in the community.
