Republic Services Promotes Recycling and Safe Driving at Preview Las Vegas

Republic Services of Southern Nevada recycling coordinator, Jeremy Walters joined hundreds of businesses at the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce Preview Las Vegas event recently held at the Thomas & Mack Center. Recycling and safe driving tips were among the priorities promoted at Republic's booth. Employees encouraged attendees to take the safe driving pledge Don’t Text While Driving. Canvas bags were distributed to Bag Your Phone While Driving and keep your cell phone cinched in the bag while behind the wheel. Studies show that drivers who use cell phones while operating their vehicle are 36 times more likely to get into an accident. Over 40 percent of accidents are caused by distracted drivers. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department also joined Republic’s team members to distribute the cell phone bags and promote safer driving, safer roads and Republic's commitment to safety.
