Republic Services Volunteers at Anaheim Health Fair Adding a Fun Environmental Education Element to the Event
ANAHEIM, Calif., April 28, 2016, /3BL Media/ - We were proud to work, live, and raise families in the areas we serve. Recently we joined hundreds of volunteers at the 10th Annual Anaheim Health Fair to show our commitment to our community. As a sponsor of the two-day event, we hosted a booth to help residents pass the time as they waited to see the doctor and/or the dentist.
Republic’s Recycling Coordinator, Lisa Robles, played games with the children and informed parents about efficient recycling and waste services offerings in the community.
The health fair is open to anyone in need of general medical, dental and vision services. More than 150 doctors, health care professionals and community members’ volunteer time to provide health screenings and services, including: dental cleanings, extractions and fillings, physical exams, heart checks, cholesterol screenings, diabetes tests, women’s services, along with chiropractic and acupuncture services, among more.
"The Anaheim Health Fair is a great example of volunteerism and helping our fellow neighbors," said Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait. "When people come together good things will happen. Hundreds of volunteers serve hundreds of attendees in need of quality medical attention. My thanks go to the doctors, health care professionals and volunteers for making this event possible."
