TANNERSVILLE, Pa., December 15, 2016 /3BL Media/ – At a United Way of Monroe County community meeting held Thursday, December 15 at Northampton Community College in Tannersville, corporate partners, community leaders, and student and staff representatives from Monroe County’s local school districts announced the results of their respective United Way campaigns to a packed room of volunteers and supporters of the United Way. Among those presenting their results, Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccines division of Sanofi announced another record-breaking year of funds raised to support community services in Monroe County Sanofi.
Every year, community members, non-profits, government offices and local corporations unite together to raise funds to support community services in MonroeCounty. Through partnership with the United Way of Monroe County, individuals can set up payroll deductions so that they can set aside a small amount every pay period. When these donations are combined with thousands of others from across the community, United Way and its 22 non-profit partners can make a meaningful positive impact in Monroe County – with all dollars raised in the county staying in the county. Last year, through the generous support of the community, over 44,000 people were helped in Monroe County through United Way efforts.
Some of the strongest workplace campaigns announced at the event included Weiler Corporation, Pocono Health System and the school districts. The largest workplace campaign came from Sanofi Pasteur, who reported an incredible campaign total of $300,231, which included employee donations to the United Way and its partner agencies, together with a company match from both Sanofi Pasteur and the Sanofi Foundation for North America. This year, 94% of the total dollars raised, amounting to $282,162 is being credited toward the United Way of Monroe County’s annual campaign. Sanofi Pasteur, with U.S. headquarters in Swiftwater, Pa., is the United Way’s largest single contributor for Monroe County, Pa.
As part of their internal campaign, the Sanofi Pasteur campaign leadership team developed a campaign theme designed to inspire participation by focusing on the value that each individual contribution brings to the campaign. The platform titled, “Be The Change” – which also mirrors the United Way of Monroe County’s campaign slogan – was intended to activate the Sanofi Pasteur community and make a difference. The campaign’s success is a direct result of collaboration and commitment from its employees, from Sanofi Pasteur and the Sanofi Foundation for North America.
Key volunteers for Sanofi Pasteur’s campaign included:
- Frank Epifano, vice president, North America & Global Finance Commercial Operations, and Sanofi Pasteur’s United Way executive lead
- Ellyn Schindler, director, North America Corporate Social Responsibility, and company campaign coach and board member of the United Way of Monroe County
