Sanofi Pasteur Employee Honored with Marley's Mission Saddle of Hope Award
Marley's Mission is a non-profit organization, based in Northeast Pennsylvania, which provides equine-based therapy free of charge to children and their families who have experienced trauma. Its humble beginnings are marked by one brave, young girl's courage to overcome tragedy, and the grassroots efforts of a community to help her achieve that goal.
The Saddle of Hope Award -- this year awarded to Sanofi Pasteur employee Ellyn Schindler -- recognizes an individual who has inspired members of Marley's Mission and made a significant, positive impact in the lives of others. Sanofi Pasteur has supported the organization since its inception. Additionally, Sanofi Pasteur's wholly owned subsidiary VaxServe has participated in multiple volunteer initiatives for this organization during the past several years. Marley's Mission is also a recipient of Sanofi Pasteur and VaxServe's Lackawanna County Community Fundraiser.
Ken Paulino, senior director, Finance and Business Operations for VaxServe, currently serves on Marley's Mission Board of Directors.
"We at Marley's Mission are extremely appreciative for the support of Ellyn, Ken, and the larger Sanofi Pasteur and VaxServe organizations, as their early and continual backing has been key for our long-term stability," said April Kemp, founder and program director of Marley's Mission.
