The Sanofi's Tucson Research Center is now among more than 350 U.S. workplaces designated as bicycle-friendly by the League of American Bicyclists. The League announced this fall that 111 new Bicycle Friendly Businesses across the country were added to the list.

“We have about 10 percent of employees who bike to work at least once or twice a week,” says Kim Stone, Senior Manager, Health, Safety and Environment and Facilities. “Many do so for the fitness benefits, but there’s also a sustainability component – reducing our carbon footprint – and the bringing together of colleagues across disciplines that fosters a fun and healthy work culture.” Among the reasons Tucson received the honor: On-site showers and lockers, bicycle maintenance stipends and a secure bicycle parking area.   Sanofi US also sponsors two events of El Tour de Tucson, the annual bike race hosted in November that attracts cyclists from around the world.   Several other Sanofi US and Canada sites also participate in bicycling to work programs.
