SAP Harnesses the Power of Sports to Inspire and Transform the Lives of Underserved Youth in Brazil through Partnership with Inter Campus
WALLDORF, Newsbyte, June 16, 2014 /3BL Media/ — In line with its ongoing commitment to improving the lives of underserved children in the communities in which it operates, SAP AG announced today a new partnership with Inter Campus, the corporate social responsibility program developed by F.C. Internazionale Milano. The initiative uses the international game of football as an educational tool to restore the right to play to needy children worldwide. As part of the partnership, SAP will provide a financial contribution to Inter Campus Brasil, a division of Inter Campus, which works to transform the lives of thousands of disadvantaged children throughout Brazil.
“As a global leader in information technology, SAP recognizes and embraces our commitment to the communities in which we work and we’re extremely proud to support Inter Campus Brasil in this effort to improve the lives of underserved children,” said Gustavo Amorim, vice president, Marketing, SAP Latin America. “With the world’s attention focused on Brazil this summer, we aim to work with Inter Campus to create a level playing field for these amazing kids.”
As the first of many special initiatives, SAP and Inter Campus Brasil will host an event during the 2014 World Cup in one of the favelas in Rio de Janeiro in order to highlight the extraordinary work of the organization. Hosted by an Inter player, the event will include a coaching session for the children and the presentation of an Inter shirt to every child.
Since 1997, Inter Campus has implemented a flexible and long-term social and cooperation program in 29 countries. A dedicated task force of managers and coaches from Inter Campus coordinate the ongoing activities at the various centers around the world where the focus is not only on teaching the skills of “the beautiful game,” but also on providing valuable educational and recreational projects for more than 10,000 children from impoverished communities. The coaches work closely with 200 locally-selected instructors and countless volunteers that work in the countries that are officially part of the Inter Campus Worldwide circuit.
“We are delighted to have SAP as a partner of Inter Campus Brasil to support the work we are doing to improve the conditions of underprivileged children across Brazil,” said Nicoletta Flutti, Corporate Partnerships, Inter Campus. “SAP shares our vision that through the international language of football we can educate and enrich the lives of thousands of children.”
