SC Johnson Moves the Needle with Employee Recycling Initiative
In its Seventh Year, Employees Recycle Over 33,000 Pounds of Electronics and More
(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) RACINE, Wis. - May 17, 2011 - SC Johnson recently held a recycling event to help employees, their families and company retirees get rid of clutter while protecting the environment. The event, organized by employees in the company’s Business Process & Technology and Product Supply Environmental Operations groups, promoted safe disposal of personal used electronics and other hard-to-dispose of items.

Semrau, Senior Vice President – Global Corporate Affairs, Communication & Sustainability. “This year, 33,000 pounds materials were safely recycled thanks to the passion of the organizing teams and the dedication of employees when it comes to recycling and to doing what’s right for the environment.” Now in its seventh year, the event continues to be a success. Over 33,000 pounds of personal computers, printers, scanners, monitors and other electronics were safely recycled. In addition, other hard-to-recycle items, such as personal used eye glasses, cell phones, thermometers containing mercury and small electronics were also accepted for safe disposal.
