For a Second Consecutive Year, Banorte is Included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index

September 17, 2015 /3BL Media/ - The sustainable practices that Grupo Financiero Banorte (GFNorte) integrates into its operations, have allowed that this financial institution has been selected for a second consecutive year to form part of the Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index (DJSI Emerging Markets), recognition which besides to be an honor, is a relevant indicator for global shareholders and investors of the group’s outstanding performance in the field of sustainability.
This achievement is undoubtedly the result of implementing a solid program of social responsibility and sustainability that has enabled Banorte to integrate a wide range of initiatives that contribute to generating value and promoting the well-being of Mexico.
Using the methodology established by S&P Dow Jones Indexes and RobecoSAM, the Dow Jones Index evaluates the performance of companies in economic, social and environmental terms, serving as a point of reference in sustainability issues for global investors while at the same time serving as a participation platform for companies wishing to adopt best sustainable practices.
In the 2015 edition, the Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index was made up of 92 members from 21 sectors and 14 countries, taking into consideration that 810 companies were invited to participate. Is important to distinguish that GFNorte, is the first and the only one Mexican financial institution to be part of this significant index.
