See the Power of 5 in Virtual Reality Video
Sometimes, words are not enough to tell a story. Even pictures and videos can fall short for those who have seen the real thing.
There’s nothing quite like being there. But we’re getting closer.
Today’s technology offers virtual reality videos that truly are the next best thing to being on site, allowing you to look around, even up or down, for a complete, 360° point of view. It can be a powerful experience. That’s why we created one to tell the story of Amway’s Nutrilite Power of 5 Campaign and our fight against global childhood malnutrition. (Click here for the full 360-degree experience!)
Earlier this year we sent a camera crew to Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia, where more than half the population lives below the national poverty line and malnutrition is a constant challenge. Globally, more than 3 million children die each year from malnutrition, and those who survive are often challenged with health and development problems for the rest of their lives.
The Power of 5 Campaign has been operating in Zambia since 2011, working with established nongovernmental organizations to distribute Nutrilite Little Bits to children who need it, educating families on good nutrition and tracking each child’s progress. This video captures the program in action.
“This is the first virtual reality documentary that really shares our effort to help fight childhood malnutrition around the world,” said Jeff Terry, Amway’s global manager of corporate social responsibility. “We always want to share that story. What better way to do it than to virtually bring people to experience it and see the ways we address it on the ground.”
You will see Jeff in the video, which takes you to a Power of 5 event where families gather for food distribution, health assessments, advice on incorporating Little Bits into their children’s diets and encouragement. You will also see the mothers and children who are directly benefitting from this work. Look around and you will see even more.
Little Bits is powdered micronutrient supplement that was designed using the World Health Organization recommendations for children 6 months to 5 years old. It provides 15 essential vitamins and minerals needed by children in those crucial first five years of life for healthy growth and brain development.
Thanks to the support for the Power of 5 Campaign, Nutrilite Little Bits is now in 14 countries and will be in 15 by the end of 2016, giving thousands of children a chance to survive, thrive and grow. Do you want to help? Donate at powerof5.nutrilite.com.
